BETC-email-headerPRLog (Press Release) - Jan. 30, 2014 - PHOENIX -- The Behavior, Education, Technology Conference (BET-C) is coming to Desert Willow Conference Center in Phoenix on February 20, 2014. BET-C (pronounced “Betsy”) is focused on helping K-12 educators improve student achievement, behavior, and school climate through a process of systemic change called Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). School districts throughout Arizona and the nation are implementing this process to find solutions to common problems like disruptive behavior and bullying.

“BET-C has matured into a regional conference celebrating its third year. This year, we expect to host over 350 educators who are interested in improving their school environments and learning to apply the academic strategies and technology integration that are required by today’s students,” says Conference Director Karen Gifford.

This year’s keynote “Instruction as a Tier I Intervention: Adult Behaviors to Affect Student Success” presents information for enhancing effective instructional practices as a foundation for success across all locations in the school. Breakout session topics include bullying prevention, school safety and security, student engagement, teacher leadership, teaching with Web 2.0 tools, panel discussions about implementing and sustaining PBIS, and a film festival featuring teacher and student produced videos about introducing and teaching PBIS.Sponsors and exhibitors such as KOI Education, Odysseyware, the Arizona Department of Education, PlascoTrac, LEGO Education, and Honeywell present this unique event for teachers, administrators, and school staff.
